I think all instances should have a sort of cache, while fetching data from the original server. then if a server is detected to go down, the instance “immortalizes” the cache. i think this reason something like this isnt done though is because it doesnt fit with the intention of activitypub

The fediverse also wastes a lot of data because each server duplicates every post and comment.

I get that you can be compelled by law enforcement to give up your biometrics, but if you’re gonna end up in that sort of situation it’s 2 buttons and a tap to temporarily disable biometrics.

I think the XMRig engine is too big to download in a browser in a reasonable size, and WASM isn’t fast enough. also people would be even less happy if they were locked out of a website until they mine crypto for the site owner :p
