    With legislative capture you no longer have capitalism. At best you have crony corporatism.

      Ah, yes, crony corporatism, that system where checks notes economic power is wielded by private investors who can convert that power into political power. I wonder where I heard that before.

      I don’t know that distinction is super valid or meaningful when capitalism will always tend towards increasing power and profit, including breaking the systems that try to keep it’s ‘purer’ forms.
