Carpenter ended up tweeting: “THEY LIVE is about yuppies and unrestrained capitalism. It has nothing to do with Jewish control of the world, which is slander and a lie.” It’s the example I cite whenever someone tried validating a smooth brain media interpretation by claiming “Death of the Author!”.
