My point is that I find it irritating that people on LW seem to only show up with their knowledge and credentials (“I actively work in a design field”) to criticize posts, yet those same people can’t be bothered to make posts in that same field in which they are knowledgeable. If you know enough to critique, you know enough to make posts that actually contribute something.
Can’t wait to see your version. You can post it here as a comment, or post it top-level and tag me. I’m really looking forward to how absolutely perfect it comes out, you absolute fucking knob
It sure would be helpful if you did contribute rather only flex your experience without adding anything.
then their opinions are invalid?
I don’t recall saying that. However it is annoying to see someone who apparently has knowledge, and is commenting on a community relevant to their knowledge, who is spending their time only in criticizing without contributing any posts.
You would hate art school and the daily/weekly show and tell. If you have bad work and speak about it poorly, it is on you to be better not blame other people.
Nope. I have no obligation to share anything. It’s like saying you have no right to critique the posts of others without first proving your credentials as a critic. Before I take you seriously, I need 1,500 words on the ethics of art criticism. You can post it here or as OC elsewhere. I expect MLA format and don’t forget to properly cite your sources. It’s due Friday
It’s hard to tell what point you’re trying to make here

Got it. So you expect experts in a field to contribute original content, and if they don’t do so, then their opinions are invalid?
