I was laid off since my former boss wanted to use AI to write code instead of trained, experienced developers. He wanted me to use AI to write up to 100% of my code. I was trying to talk sense into him - use it for boilerplate functions or maybe codebase analysis, but any code touching anything important should be written by someone who knows what they’re doing. And at no point should any code written by AI not be subject to human review. Since he wanted to go all-in on vibe coding and my caution was a hindrance, I got the axe.
