Most websites will aggressively push their app to you if they recognize that you are viewing their site on mobile. Not all websites require the app and may be viewed by web browser, but I’m not sure if discord is one of them.
That’s pretty odd. Looks like Feddit is on Piefed, and I was able to open join links in browser. Maybe check your browser settings for opening links in app and add an exclusion for Piefed links. Alternatively you can try and save the browser view as an app shortcut which might solve your issue. The whole “Add app to home screen” which should just give you an app icon to open the web version essentially
Sorry for the first you’ll want to look at the settings “Open links in app” in your browser, and “Default Apps” on your phone. You should be able to tell if it is set to always open those links in an app. For the other I’m talking about this setting on Firefox, will probably look different in another browser
