And they advertise their general use WD-40 as several things including a lubricant. It’s not a good long term lubricant compared to oil or grease, but it is a lubricant.

It’s also a solvent that’ll break down lubricant. Use it to get the old gunk out, but you gotta add new grease or oil after.
