    Phones last longer than ever, may well keep mine going for a decade after it’s production date before getting another one.

      Not to mention they’re not really getting better. There’s not really anything a brand new phone can do that a phone a few years old can’t do. There’s no point in getting a new phone cos it’s not really an upgrade anymore

      I’ll keep buying used ones too. Buying “cutting edge” models is just so stupid in 2026.

        My fairphone was 5 years old when I got it so if I use it for 5 more, getting it new could make sense if I then use it for 10 years. So I might look at getting a new fair phone when this is no longer usable.

        But then even a new fairphone is like half the price or less of the most expensive smartphones, it’s just far more than any phone I have bought before it.

    Yeah, my phone was released in 2021 and i bought it brand new in the box in 2023. It’s still working great, so I have no reason to replace it. It also cost 0.5 Monero
