    If they ban vpns we can use proxies,

    if they ban proxies we can use ssh tunnels,

    if they ban ssh (which is unlikely) we can use to tor

    This is just the pirate bay all over again 🙄

      Yes, but the average Windows 11 + NordVPN guy is gonna be upset cause he thinks they took his privacy.

        What nonsense is this? You should be upset too. Any restriction of this kind is just a first step. Ban VPNs, require age verification to access a large party of the internet (which comes with identifying you as a specific individual). Congrats, you end up either not having anonymity online or being a criminal just for accessing Lemmy without giving up your ID.

    Good luck. VPN is legitimate tech used by businesses, big and small.

    Just more Authoritarians, whose demographic is aging out, trying to control the population by “regulating” tech they don’t understand.
