Makhno did have spies among the Bolsheviks, the animosity was mutual. Either we have your version of Makhno that was trusting to his own detriment against the clearly monstrous Red Army, or we have the correct version of Makhno as a pragmatic anarchist facing pragmatic Marxists and a mutual enemy in the White Army.

They were a counter-intelligence group that infiltrated the Bolsheviks, spying on them and turning these Bolsheviks traitor.
