I started voting as soon as I turned 18 but knew I was an outlier from the get-go as I was the only person under 40 at the polling booths. People under 60 are reactionary and will only vote for a better candidate when the world’s already on fire and it’s mostly too late to prevent a lot of damage.
My only hope is with Mamdani and all the positive press he’s been getting from all his progressive policies. All of this is at least affecting the political discourse enough to nudge the Overton Window a tiny bit back to the left with Democrats.
