Why are Hank and Dale coming back from a Costco trip? Like don’t get me wrong I could totally see both of them going to Costco and Dale getting into some hijinx with their rotisserie chicken or something, but like why?
Neither of these men would go to Costco. Dale because they require membership with a photo ID and he doesn’t want to be tracked, Hank because it’s essentially collective bargaining with manufacturers and that’s Communism. (Peggy would absolutely love it, Bobby is excited by all the free samples, and Hank might be swayed by the end of the episode because of the principled stance on what things “ought to cost”.)
I was kinda figuring that it’s after the episode where they get over whatever gripes they have with Costco. Dale most certainly not have a membership card but Hank takes him anyways. Also I don’t think Hank would think it’s communism since Costco is actually a pretty damned good example of Capitalism done right with it undermining competition via lower prices using clever tricks rather than market dominance, he would probably have a different gripes like how far away it is versus how much they save or thinking they’re fucking over customers in some unseen way like selling old food or something.
I imagine it’d probably be something along the lines of Peggy dragging Hank to Costco and Dale tagging along for one reason or another. I could also see it becoming a mild gag in later episodes where Dale and Hank come back from Costco with mostly normal things but Dale buying the occasional weird shit in bulk.
Dale would totally sneak in with a single woman trying to look like a couple and buy shit in the self checkout with a hacked barcode connected to the account 512-867-5309
