Tesla is a hype stock and is based on hopes and dreams. Maybe it will get there but probably not. If Elon gets sick or quits, the entire company doesn’t have a chance.
I would say there is a very big chance of that happening in the next few years.
The next big wave is probably robotics and tesla could have a chance there though to once again rise. But many other tech companies want the same market.

And the stock is starting to tank, because the earnings are shit, but they’ve been way below it’s valuation for ages

Elon made himself toxic. If they need him to survive, they’re already dead.
Elon is the one deciding everything so yeah, I can’t see how some random ceo is going to have the same visions and drive to work all the time.
