King Charles has been accused of hypocrisy after 12 foxes were “shot and strung up like trophies” on Crown Estate land, we can reveal.

The grim discovery in countryside owned by the monarch, near Penicuik, Midlothian, sparked a police probe and comes as Charles claims to be at one with the natural world in a documentary out this week.

Campaigners have written to the King urging him to intervene after images obtained by the Sunday Mail showed the slaughtered animals, with some of the bloody carcasses draped over a fence near a publicly accessible path.

People would apparently rather the foxes starve from overpopulation or that they kill vulnerable species.

They know a lot about nature, which is why they only have time to downvote a fact they don’t like. They’re just too busy being one with nature…

I remember growing up we used to get hedgehogs and even ducks walking across the street.

I’m willing to accept that if could just be loss of habitat due to more new buildings that caused the downtick in their numbers. But the rampant uptick in foxes cant be ignored.

They used to be shy, slender, solitary creatures that you’d get a small glimpse of in the dead of night.

Now, they’re out brazenly in the open in packs of 2 or 3, jumping on the bins and staring you down if you walk past.
