The important number is what people intend to buy as their next car and it is well over 80%.
What people say they want to do and what people actually do tend to be two very different things. Hence the difference between the 80% and the 25%.
What people want to do and what they are able to do, aren’t the same.
I genuinely want my next car to be an EV too, but supplies are quite constrained here, and that means prices are inflated beyond my budget, and I’ll likely be unable to afford an EV as my next car, unless I can hang onto my ICE car much longer than it’s designed to last (which I will try).
