And they have enough people to maintain and inspect the hundreds of thousands of reactors that are going to be built, if those small reactors work?

As one of people I can tell you that they dont. (But this might also be a small sample size)
I still can’t quite wrap my head around it. I remember from my childhood that it was a big deal when they found samples of dinosaur skin and eggshells. So I wonder, is this information simply “hidden” in the rocks surrounding the fosil bones, and can now be examined with these new techniques? Or does it take an exceptionally well-preserved sample that can now be analyzed in much greater detail, revealing more information?

I hope they follow through with it. And I also hope they allow for quick incremental changes instead of aiming for the perfect solution right away that will take a decade to develop and implement. Just to be clear, I think it should be the far goal to be fully independent from US and other non-EU software.

China will lower the prices until no company will remember the European independence and will only see profit. Worked over and over again. Maybe if the eu finds a way to protect the growing European companies. But at the moment, with the US becoming more and more unreliable as a business partner, I feel like the EU is searching for new friends and not more enemies.
