The last time I went to Florida I wanted to go hiking. We went to a local trail that had signs for alligators and pythons all over the place, and warning to avoid getting leprosy from armadillos. I don’t know how common these issues would be, but it made Canadian trails look like a walk in the park.

I agree! The mud daubers and digger wasps can look quite scary with their nipped waists, but they are quite docile. I have a bird bath, and when it’s empty they sit on the edge patiently while I fill it, then gently crawl into the periphery. They have never bothered me in the slightest

3·9 days agoThe number of touch screen clicks I need to turn my windshield wipers on is just plain dangerous.
I’m old enough to remember a time when windows were rolled up by hand. It wasn’t perfect, but you never had to turn your car on again to deal with a window forgotten open.
