A Computer Virus normally targets the weaknesses of an operating system in order to do horrible things to it’s user. But what happens with a multi-trillion dollar company spends a decade slowly changing their own operating system to act just like a virus?

    I mean it was spyware for a while now. Just waiting for the secenario, some people already joked about.( This “we encrypted your files so you switch to copilot os” meme/satire screenshot.)

          One can hope :3. I don’t think there’s gonna be a mass windows exodus any time soon though, the majority of people are either too entrenched, or don’t know/care enough about computing to consider alternatives

        I am sure that you can sue microsoft if they do that (At least in europe, i think)

          Certainly :3. I think that was pointed out in the replies to the comment. Of course the practicality of actually suing microsoft may be more complicated even in europe

    The surveilance economy was a grey zone in ancient time. Few did anything to put up a fight. In modern times it is normalized.
