If someone as prominent as the AG feels empowered to level this accusation against a Jewish member of congress who lost a grandfather to the holocaust (and face no pushback from her party or Jewish advocacy groups), you can’t help but feel that the word has turned into a convenient political attack vector, not a serious accusation you make toward people who genuinely want to harm jews. Plus, all that will do is just drive otherwise ambivalent jews to become zionist because there’s safety in aligning yourself with an extremely powerful group of people that at least nominally pretend to give a shit about jews.
