The guillotine is a far more humane method of execution. It’s harder to mess up (even for inexperienced executioners) and nobody can argue that it doesn’t cause instant death. It’s also very re-usable at minimal cost. The only downside is that it’s a mess to clean up afterwards…
Interesting fact… I read somewhere of a man about to be beheaded… He was a scientist so he had another watch his head after the blade did its job. He was going to blink as long as he could. The blinking lasted 7 seconds.
