That sounds like a road straight to burnout.

Oh, they’ll get rewarded, with more workload.
When lunch is unpaid, I’ll skip it so I can go home earlier
That’s illegal in some states. To make sure employers are providing lunches and breaks.
Shhhhh don’t tell my manager
Uhhhh… In every workplace I’ve ever been in, skipping lunch breaks is going to get them chewed out by management who are legally responsible for making sure workers take breaks.
In the US it’s up to individual states to set laws that require breaks.
Ah, true. In states with shit(tier) labor laws, this meme makes a lot more sense.
Bless your heart
No, really, this even happened to me personally one time. I was young, newly employed, didn’t really know how things worked, and through some inept accident missed my lunch break one day.
When I came into work again, I was pulled aside by a perplexed supervisor who told me that I cannot under any circumstances miss lunch breaks. I don’t care if it was ethically important to them personally; what I know for sure is that they were not fucking around with legally required lunch breaks.
We once had a new guy start who was kinda like this, but also a dick with it. On his first day he smashed into a job that some of our older guys usually did, easily managing to knock it out in 2/3 of the time usually allotted.
I pointed out that all he really did was make the older guys look bad.
He went and complained to the management about me.
He didn’t last long.
sounds like yall need a union
I mean, yeah, but on this occasion it wouldn’t have made a difference. The management knew what the job took to complete and weren’t riding us to kill ourselves over it. This lad wanted to prove he was The Shit, when mostly he was just a shit.
So bring them up to speed, dont be a dick.
And get more work back on my plate?
