Quantum suicide implies there is a reality where you found the gun. Killed yourself and then your consciousness, who was in superposition of all realities continues in this branch of reality where you did not find a gun.

I was convinced that death would not be my end, that I would survive the destruction of my body and continue on, unaffected by the world, no longer apart of it.

In a sober mindset, I know that’s bullshit, there is no afterlife.

Not to make you second guess yourself but it always trips me up when people say they know that there is no post death experience. It seem gnostic.

The shrooms statement could be true for some perspectives and is impossible to proof either way. The idea can be used practically, to understand that death is nothing to worry about and even comfortable can make it easier to live life in the moment. But i have no idea why a healthy person would seek it out because it’l happen on its own for everyone anyway. Might as well live out the magic of this reality now as i experience it.

The only thing stopping them making a clean sweep in the UK is they’ve split into factions and none of them can agree on anything other than a rabid hatred of anything foreign.

    Native New Yorker here.

He was a part of the local media here forever. In his home town he’s hated by the rich, the poor, the middle class, and everyone else.

    We tried to warn people.

During Trump’s first term, I identified this as the number one most annoying thing about Trump. That you don’t want the world’s biggest attention whore as president.

And the only good thing about Trump was that he didn’t actually do the job. He just watched TV and called into Fox News and took extended golfing holidays.

I still cannot comprehend how people seemed to forget this during Biden’s term, when you could actually go a week or more without hearing about the president.

This is partly why I’m alright with Keir Starmer being my Prime Minister.

Yes, I recognise my privilege, and yes, I recognise that other people are likely suffering because of his government’s policies. But there’s not a huge amount that I personally can do to change the government’s minds, and it was much, much worse under The Fucking Tories.

So for my own mental health I’m taking the view that it’s quite nice to not open the news sites and see nothing but nastiness and horror. Until I browse the world news section, that is.

People are watching trump rip apart the modern world status quo and disrupt any sense of remaining international law, yet still want to vote for Farage next election.

“First, I must confess that over the past few years I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro’s great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen’s Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to “order” than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says: “I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action”; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man’s freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a “more convenient season.” Shallow understanding from people of good will is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will.”

            • The Leave Referendum, Brexit negotiations and the actual Brexit.
            • Pretty much every single day of the government of Boris Johnson.
            • All the shit that came out in the Snowden Revelations about the “worse than the Stasi” level of civil society surveillance UK .
            • The causes and handling of the 2008 Crash in Britain.
            • The British participation in the second Iraq War which was amongst other things deemed Pillage (a war crime) in the report from the Comission on the Iraq War and the subsequent absence of accountability of British decision makers involved.
            • The current government arresting people as “Terrorist supporters” for demonstrating against the Gaza Genocide.
            • The pure propaganda BBC coverage on the Gaza War.
            • The entire Corby “anti-semitism” slander campaign including the pure propaganda BBC coverage as well as the time they basically called a Jewish Holocaust Survivor an anti-semite to try and slander Corbyn by association.
            • The ongoing crackdown on the right to demonstrate since at least 2010.

These are just the biggest ones (not including the long-running shit-show called The Royal Family). Plenty of smaller insane shit can be found in British newspapers quite regularly.

British politicians haven’t been serious and minded for at least 2 decades, probably more.

Great image management and projection of a posh image, whilst totally taking the piss out of just about everybody but a handful of people in their making of policy.

And the EU has been on a roll recently with threatening privacy with chat control, net neutrality, rising right-wing politics in many countries. We’re not a mini america yet, but let’s not pretend it’s all roses and unicorns here, there is a lot of fighting still to be done.
