That’s exactly the point. If it sounds too easy to be true, you know it isn’t. And that’s all that nationalists have been doing for like ever. Joining the EU was the simple solution.
It might be the right solution, but it wasn’t simple. Look how constantly divided the country was throughout that time culminating in the UK leaving.
If it were simple the referendum would have been a no brainer and the red wall Labour voters wouldn’t have sided with UKIP and the Tories in pulling us out. But there’s a lot more nuances and complications that make it not simple.
Except very few people gave the EU much thought UNTIL the referendum made it a big deal.
