Too much cheese
As a Midwesterner, no such thing.

Programming@programming.dev•GNU Guix transactional package manager and distribution — GNU GuixEnglish
0·9 days agoIt isn’t terribly difficult. I’m in the same camp as you (in my case, there was no way I was going to run Linux Libre over the standard kernel).
Guix uses what it calls channels to distribute package definitions and the NonGuix channel is an often used one for non-free packages (https://gitlab.com/nonguix/nonguix). With that, i can use the standard Linux kernel (and other things, such as Steam).
In terms of Cuda, I found some definitions for it at this repo.: https://codeberg.org/guix-science/guix-science-nonfree/src/branch/master/guix-science-nonfree/packages/cuda.scm

0·9 days agoTheoretically, I’d expect so? As you can load a Wisp file with Guile, I’d expect you could get Guix to read a Wisp config., though it might be somewhat round-about in method. Something like this, maybe: https://www.reddit.com/r/GUIX/comments/1g6ft9h/comment/lsoa1e7/.
Personally, I love LISP for the parentheses but I love seeing just how much we can get away with (and choice), too.

Programming@programming.dev•Welcome Dan Williams, new LibreOffice Developer focusing on UI/UX 🥳English
0·14 days agoTo be fair, you seem to be using the original UI that mirrored Word 2003’s UI (which, when I first switched over to Linux back in 2012, I was positively thrilled about Writer having as it was basically a drop-in replacement for Word, then).
I dunno if I just occasionally used Word too many times since then but I find the old UI impenetrable now, as well; but LibreOffice has support for the Ribbon UI (and 2–3 similar ones, I think), as well. Maybe you might find it easier?

I almost never switch the orientation of Writer so I genuinely was pretty much finding how to do it for the first time.

0·14 days agoLayout > Orientation > Landscape(I presume you meant that since the default orientation is Portrait)Took me about 3 seconds.
This was exactly my thought; feels similar to people’s response to PSAs regarding forest fires: “you had to be told to put out camp fires or check they’re fully put out?”
Clearly, history indicates that concepts don’t stick unless drilled into “common cultural sense”.
